College Students

Our college ministry is a vibrant group of young adults who balance their college life with their spiritual life and their social activities with community service. There are many ways for college students to be involved in both service and fun at The Summit.

Worship

We run a van to campus every Sunday. We will have van stops between at 10:35 a.m at the Courtyard and at 10:45 a.m. at Central Drive Residence hall. We promise to bring you back home after worship.

We are always looking for worship volunteers. We need greeters, scripture readers and musicians to play and sing in our bands. We need sound and media technicians. We need folks to help us set up and clean up.

Fall Events

  • August 25th: Tubing at Deep Creek.
  • August 26th: Taco Party after worship.
  • September 1st: Hiking and swimming on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • September 9th: The Summit Birthday Party and Second Chance Prom.
  • October 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th: Haunted Barn and Trail in Webster.
  • November 18th: Thanksgiving boxes for needy families.

We will also be feeding people at The Community Table, serving at United Christian Ministries and volunteering with Adopt-a-Highway as well as other community projects.

Small Group Studies

The Summit has an on-campus Bible study during lunch on Thursdays. The time and place are being worked out. This fall we will be reading and discussing the Gospel of Luke. Many of our students participate in the Cooperative Student Fellowship Bible study on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Contact Daniel Carr at 336-953-2474 for more information.

Adopt-A-Student

We have families in our church who serve as your local "family" while you are away at school. These families offer support, meals and family events to give you a break from college life. For more information about our student ministries, contact Jim Dean at 506-1303 or Rachael Kerby at 828-226-4513.
