April 2010 Update
The Summit Church is now the proud owners of a 15 acre tract of land on Dills Cove Road in Sylva. The property officially closed on April 30, 2010. The cost is $195,000 and will be paid over a period of 100 years at 0% interest. We now have a place to call home!
The next step is to develop a master plan for the property. Victor Lofquist, a local engineer, has been retained to develop the plan. The plan will outline, in general terms, traffic flow, parking, building sites, and overall land usage over the next 10-20 years.
Once the master plan is developed and approved, the next step is the retain an architect for building design and to raise the money necessary to start building.

July 2009 Update
Town Hall Meeting #1
The Land Team held a Town Hall meeting on June 28 to assemble questions from the congregation on the potential purchase of property. The Summit Church has targeted property on Dills Cove Road (at the intersection of the Expressway) as a potential church home. During the summer, the Land Team and various ministries will further clarify identify land and facility needs and continue discussion on the acquisition of a property for a permanent church home. A congregational vote is anticipated for late August on purchasing the property. As part of the land acquisition process, timetable for a capital campaign and construction will be developed. Details on the property can be obtained from any Land Team member.
